Once again, I have put together the runway collections to show How To Ready Your Closet for Spring 2023 Fashion Trends.
The History
When I started including full runway shows into my blogs, I would:
- Go online at the date & time of the show.
- Record all shows available online for the public using my iPad; stopping every 2-3 minutes in order to upload to TikTok.
*before TikTok allowed 10 minute videos. - Upload & edit each show using WeVideo
- Finally post to YT & TikTok.
This process took forever & would cause arm cramps trying to hold my iPad still, LOL! Was so gung-ho on getting videos up before anyone else.
Needed an easier way, so a year ago decided to be patient & use videos from YT. Meant I wouldn’t be first to upload, but allows me to review more collections. Not all designers give access to the general public.
What’s New
- While creating my F/W 2024 blog (posted 2 weeks ago (link here)), realized the “In My Cart” section was taking twice as long to get out my blog.
For each look I loved, had to pause & continually rewind the video to ensure I captured every detail of the piece. A 20-minute video would take over an hour to watch & add the items I wanted “In My Cart**”. - Lastly, I began adding the videos after the blog was written. It lags having to recall so much data while writing.
** Designers below with an “In My Cart” section, were written prior to making the decision. When you read the details, you will understand why I had to scale back!

A fantastic collection with a ton of transitional options. From day to evening Hanako Maeda (creative director) has you covered. Initial reaction, this collection is a confection of HAPPY, BEAUTIFULLY CRAFTED PIECES. The obi belts & platform shoes are FIRE!
Alice + Olivia
Look forward to seeing the video presentation from Stacey Bendet (founder) each season. With such a short video, best to say as I do with every A+O collection, every season; “I WANT IT ALL!!”
Stacey’s feminine hand to edgy designs is why we FASHIONISTAS LOVE A+O. Only a genius would hem jeans & make t-shirt sleeves out of crystal beading. Another successful season!
For S/S 2023 Joseph took us to Mongolia with beautiful ethnic prints. LIVING for the feather & gold accent scarves. Also the mirror beaded pieces are STUNNING. A FRESH COLLECTION with fantastic wardrobe staples.

A CANDY BOX OF GLAMOUR! Trends beautifully executed. Another winning collection without a single misstep. I AM DEAD over all the chunky heeled platform sandals, the satin are my favorite!
Industry experts review the collection so no need for me to, LOL! LOVED IT!

As each look came down the runway, was COMPLETELY MESMERIZED! Kept trying to come up with adjectives to describe it:

No matter what word I though of, it paled in comparison to the OH MY GOD I HAVE TO HAVE IT ALL feeling I got. You will too when watching the show. ENJOY!!!

Macramé & fringe pieces are beautifully done. Accessories are not to be missed: men’s sandals, fringed woven handbags, lace up sandals, sunglasses & belts YAS!

Hate to say about a designer I’ve loved since learning the word fashion. There are some lovely pieces however, NOT A HUGE FAN OF THIS COLLECTION. Felt a bit matronly & rehashed.
Certain the new Creative Director, Wes Gordon, was instructed not to go to far out of the brand’s box. Unfortunately, it FELL FLAT for me.
Enjoyed the bucket hats with tulle brims & the high waisted jeans look. F/W 2024 was better (blog HERE)

One word that came to mind when watching the collection: MAGIC! Love Christian for his show-stopping art pieces, but when he gives you streetwear, like denim & menswear, it’s INCREDIBLY SPECIAL!
For S/S 2023 there are so many approachable pieces. Sure millions of women have been fighting to get these AMAZING designs.
Nothing felt like you’ve see it before, or redone from previous seasons. It is fresh, vibrant, & beautiful. BRAVO Christian; yet again you left me wanting more!!
Coach
A SOLID & CREATIVE collection. All staples (pants, dresses, jackets, sweaters, etc.) are creatively designed. Not just in fabrication, but cut & style. S/S 2023 is NEW & FUN!
Coach does leathers like no one else; best known for their bags, shoes & accessories.
Leather shorts with buckle hems, AMAZING! The new jelly bags are MAJOR & let’s not forget the revival of jelly shoes, LOVE IT!

Such a short video, no review is needed, it’s NY IT GIRL CHIC!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!
Jason Wu
For S/S all the basic Jason Wu elements are represented. Luxury fabrics, BEAUTIFULLY EXECUTED CUTS & pieces everyone will be dying for.
However, this season, the looks were a bit softer. Missed the edgy looks the downtown girls love. Felt more uptown, but still an AMAZING SHOW!
Kevan Hall
EVERY TIME the curtain opened my jaw immediately hit the floor! From head to toe, day to eveningwear it’s a DELICIOUS TREAT! Love the use of boucle for spring. WOW, WOW, WOW Kevan!
LaQuan Smith “BODYCONIC!”
The review is in the video, no need for me to put in my 2 cents. LOVE EVERYTHING LaQuan does!
Marc Jacobs
Marc is still experimenting with volume. The jackets & coats are the stars of the collection. But it’s all about the boots for me DYING!
Was hoping for a few more wearable pieces but still a lovely show.

You know Michael can do no wrong in my book, & S/S is no exception! I LOVE YOU MICHAEL & thank you for reminding women they don’t need to show their tits to be sexy! STUNNING COLLECTION!

UGH, I am so sorry I missed this year’s awards season due to my move. Certain many of these looks graced a ton of red carpets. A COMPLETE TRIUMPH!
Prabal Gurung
An AMAZING show! Hard yet soft is the running theme of the collection. On a side note Prabal is aging backwards. He looks younger than ever!
IN MY CART:
- Barely there mini’s with rose details are KILLER. In every fabrication from denim to silk!
- Shiny latex tights & opera length gloves are awesome seasonal transition pieces
- Love the juxtaposition of hard latex with beautiful floral chiffon draped pieces
- The color palette is saturated jewel tones with a few pastels thrown in the mix
- Multi-color feather-like mini dress with rose rouched corset bodice
- Let’s not forget the knee high strappy sandals LIVING
Proenza Schouler
The word that kept running in my head throughout the show was UNIQUE! Even the bags & shoes are incredibly special. Know the downtown divas are killing each other to SNAP UP EVERY LOOK!
Ralph Lauren
ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! You get both Ralph Lauren & Polo collections in 1 show. It’s solid, it classic, IT’S RALPH!
Time to UPDATE YOUR STAPLES. Need a new white shirt or blouse? How about a fresh pair of impeccably cut shorts or trousers?
Everyone needs a new sequin evening gown and updated leather day bag? THIS IS YOUR COLLECTION!
The 2023-24 trends like fringe, accordion pleats & plaids, Ralph has been doing since the beginning of his career. So naturally they are done beautifully!
Rodarte
Couldn’t find the S/S 2023 show but F/W 2023-24 in last blog.
Sergio Hudson
Sergio’s designs are strong, sexy, BOSS BABE! For S/S 2023 he gave us a collection that screams BUY ME!
Although all trends are present, nothing felt like a rehash of another designer. These looks are pure Sergio from the 8″ chunky heeled platforms to the little sequin box bags & everything in between; LOVED!!
Simkhai
There are some lovely pieces, but the laser cut designs SLAP!! The accessories are incredibly special & the shoes are amazing.
Tadashi Shojhi
Look forward to Tadashi’s spring collection every year, no one brings spring like Tadashi. It’s LUXURY ROMANCE that will hit a ton red carpets!
The Blonds
For S/S 2023 the boys surprised us with a mostly neutral/print show; it’s REFRESHING & STUNNING!
Been a few seasons since the duo gave us menswear & thank god they are back at it. The whole collection is FIERECE!
Theophilio
Felt the collection was nice, but a bit pedestrian for the brand. Didn’t get that “wow” feeling I normally get.
Occasionally designers create a collection that may not be amazing on the catwalk, but still SELL LIKE HELL!
Tombogo “For the Truant & the Fluent”
Before I see the collection, Tom is a ONE-OF-A-KIND VOICE IN FASHION & I love him for that.
Now on to the show…
HOLY SHIT, IT WAS AMAZING! OBSESSED with the baby pocket cargos!
Only complaint, wished there were more looks. Tom has done bigger collections in the past & hope he does more next season!
Thom Browne
Another designer I am going to rave about before I watch the collection. Pains me I don’t more about Thom’s brand. PEOPLE GET ON THE THOM BROWNE TITTY!
OK now the show…
Thom brought me to the brink of explosion. I literally said out loud, “This is one of the best collections I have seen in decades!”
Men’s briefs waistbands & platform saddle shoes YAS! YAS! YAS! Hold on to your Thom Browne socks, this collection is going to BLOW YOU AWAY!
Tory Burch
Although everything felt long & lean, there are definitely new silhouettes for Tory this season.
A BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED collection fashionistas are dying get their hands on! NEED every purse & shoe, but the little coin purse belts, TO DIE FOR!
Ulla Johnson
Seeing both of Ulla’s collections, prefer F/W more. Not to say these designs are not great, just felt a bigger impact watching the fall show.
Vivienne Tam “Metaverse, Past, Present, & Future”
Must be Part 1 of her collections for 2023-24. F/W is entitled “Weaving into the Metaverse” (see blog)
Menswear, womenswear, bags, shoes & accessories; I WANT IT ALL! Classic Vivienne Tam fabrications are present like lace & crochet.
Vivienne always pushes herself with new cuts & silhouettes; TOTALLY LOVE HER!
London
Burberry
UNCONVENTIONAL SILHOUETTES & cutouts not commonly associated with the Burberry makes this collection unique.
Shocked this was Riccardo Tisci’s final collection for the house. Former Bottega designer, Daniel Lee is now creative direcor.
Pieces are WELL EXECUTED, nothing vanilla in these looks! Each item gives you a feeling, one way or the other.
Central Saint Martins
Difficult to review the CSM show, there are a lot of designers & it’s a really long show. Recall one season reviewing each designer, took forever. Check the archives.
Christopher Kane
Two words to sum up the collection: MIND BLOWING! Or is that 1 word? Saying it’s 2 because you will emphasize each word when you watch the show.
Took a minute to find, but thank god I did. The use of thin clear latex mixed with ultra-soft fabrics is pure GENIUS! Absolutely DYING over the booties & sandals; and the folded hem designs, “CHEF’S KISS!”
Erdem
Some real SHOW-STOPPING MOMENTS! Brave to do an all dress collection. The fabrics, colors & prints are great; the innovative silhouettes are REFRESHING!

Pull out your wish list kids, because there is a tons going in your cart! For such a short presentation, it truly PACKS A PUNCH! For fashionistas that love “out of the box” designs, THIS IS YOUR COLLECTION!
Paul & Joe
Another BEYOND SUCCESSFUL collection for the house! It’s the way women dress IRL: strong, romantic, edgy & EXPENSIVE. Every piece HITS from day dresses, to gowns & accessories. JUST WOW!
Pronounce *
A relatively new voice in London streetwear for men & women. Incredibly crafted designs with some REAL BANGERS! OBSESSED with the men’s shorts & denim pieces. Looking forward to following them in the future!
Simone Rocha
To take a reference that has been done ad nauseum in fashion “Aviation”, and give it a completely new interpretation takes REAL TALENT!
Simone TOOK MY BREATH AWAY! It’s not just fashion IT IS ART! A fantastic range of chic designs!

Mr. Armani’s clear inspiration for the collection is the court jester. To transform the iconic pattern we all associate with “the jester” into this season’s plaid trend GENIUS!

The collection is BEAUTIFULLY CONSTRUCTED. However, felt like the clothes are secondary to the bags & accessories the house is known for.
The highlight for me was Kate Moss’ return to the runway!
Coperni
Video on the Coperni channel is age restricted, so used the one below.
Unfortunately, didn’t feel an urgency to grab pieces from the collection; F/W was better.
Bella Hadid being painted with sprayed fabric & creating a dress on the runway was awesome (see thumbnail); went viral 6 months ago!
Diesel
Just when you thought everything in the world of denim streetwear has been done, along comes Diesel to prove there are still a million ways to manipulate this incredible fabric.
SO MANY PIECES I WANT & you will too!
On a side note they received the world record for the largest inflatable statue, how cool is that!!
Dior
Believe Maria has made a come back, sadly gave a negative review for F/W 2022.
S/S 2023 is a STRONG COLLECTION with a range of designs from skirts & shorts to blazers & caged ball gowns.
The foundation of the collection is neutrals. Color comes in by way of floral prints & accents.
Being a former dancer, I enjoyed the performance. However, I prefer my 2 favorite art mediums separate. Felt it made the show longer than needed.
Dolce & Gabbana “Ciao, Kim”
Not ashamed to admit, I LOVE KIM KARDASHIAN (and Khloe)!
OK, now the show…
It’s what you expect from a Dolce & Gabbana collection: bold, strong & sexy. In my book, DELICIOUS!
Thought they were updated looks Kim has worn. After watching the show read more on how Kim was involved. If you don’t already know, I’ll link a Vogue article HERE
FYI… Don’t like to read other reviews or research prior to writing my blog, helps keep them unbiased. This was the exception.
DSquared2 F/W 2023-24
Could only find the F/W collection & since I didn’t cover it in my last blog, adding it here.
Undeniably sexy streetwear like only Dean & Dan can do. Always a mix-up of decades & the styling is CRAZY HOT! You can always count on DSquared2 to deliver A DROOL-WORTHY collection!
Emporio Armani
Going into detail on the 3 Armani collections is going to feel redundant. LOVE ALL THINGS ARMANI!
Figure out which Armani collection fits your fashion fancy (& price point) and get some! Perfect to UPDATE YOUR STAPLES too.
Etro
WOW from the word go! The embroidered denim is LIFE!!! Not to mention the hip-high boots as a transitional item! Pick a look, bag, shoe/boot, or accessory you don’t love, I DARE YOU!

WHAT AN EXCITING SHOW! The clothes are incredibly crafted & the new bag designs are NEXT LEVEL! Loving the slash details & new silhouettes, like apron-style dresses & sweaters!
Fendi Couture
INNOVATIVELY ROMANTIC! Don’t normally go for such soft designs, but each gown has a bit of edge making it AMAZING!
The fabrics are as luxurious as they come & the beading is couture level incredible. Also the handbags & shoes are INSANE!
Ferragamo

The collection is A COMPLETE HIT! Naturally the new shoe & bag designs are BANGERS, it’s what the house is known for.
The clothes are incredible with many fresh ideas, fabrications & details! OBSESSED with the long tassel structured bags.
Giorigo Armani
Out of the 3 collections (Emporio & Privé) this is my favorite. I ACTUALLY STOPPED BREATHING!
The saturated jewel tones are so refreshing & the beading is BEYOND! Mr. Armani I hope we have you for many more years because your talent is LIFE!!!
Gucci “Twinsburg”
JUST WOW! It’s as if Alessandro took inspiration from all over the world & created a design based on various culture!
Not going to give anything away; it’s a MUST WATCH SHOW! Sorry, maybe 1 little thing; LIVING for the Gremlins pieces.
Jil Sander
A brand that is HIGHLY UNDERRATED! For S/S Jil gave us an incredibly chic collection with items that are BEAUTIFUL & COVETABLE!
Max Mara
An amazing collection of solid, chic pieces. The color palette is soft which allows you to see the details of these DELICIOUS DESIGNS!
Am a sucker for a sailor style pant, to updated them for 2023 is AWESOME!
Moschino
I am a DIE-HARD JEREMY SCOTT FAN! He can do no wrong in my book and MANAGES TO TOP HIMSELF EVERY SEASON! S/S is the COLLECTION OF MY DREAMS!
Will do whatever it takes to see a Moschino show before I die!

A STRONG & WELL EXECUTED collection! A million pieces that are going to flow seamlessly into your closet & soon become GO-TOs.
MM6 Maison Margiela
A UNIQUE VOICE IN FASHION! For S/S 2023 we get an apocalyptic take on modern streetwear. Can see some beautiful pieces to merge into my closet.
Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons present Prada
IT’S POWERFUL, IT’S CHIC, IT’S PRADA!! Need I say more?
Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini
Dare you to find a look you don’t love! OBSSESSED with the toile print especially in the shiny latex-like fabric. The high-rise pants are amazing. Overall a SEXY AF collection!
Roberto Cavalli
It’s everything you want in a Cavalli collection; STONG, UBER SEXY & a lot of leopard print! Absolutely loved this collection. Designs destined for red carpets & fashionable parties EVERYWHERE!
Sportmax “Bouba/Kiki”
A unique & refreshing take on the trends, with THOUGHTFUL DETAILS & FINISHES! Romantic but edgy is hard to pull off, but Sportmax did it beautifully!
Tod’s “Italian Flair”
To stay relevant in fashion for over a 100 years is nearly impossible. How does Tod’s do it? By refreshing chic, classic cuts & updating their biggest sellers, i.e. the nubby soled flats.
For S/S the brand didn’t let us down. Creating STUNNING LOOKS that will be passed down for generations!

What a great way to start my Paris reviews. You can see every one of these looks walking the streets of Paris! They are RELAXED, CHIC & FUN
Alexander McQueen “First Sight”
Alexander is my favorite designer of all times! And his predecessor, Sarah Burton, has been handling the house brilliantly since his death.
Now the show…
DAMN IT, I AM DECEASED!! These are not just designs but PURE ART! Sarah creates bold edgy looks with the lightest of air fabrics? IT IS MATERFUL! Another hit Sara, congratulations!
Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood “Sous le Ciel de Paris” (Under Paris Skies)
Know Vivienne was THRILLED with the collection Andreas created for S/S 2023. Was the last collection before her passing this past December.
There are some SPECTACULAR NUGGETS & the croc embossed platforms are MAAAJAHH!!
Andrew Gn “Voyage AGN”
MINDBLOWN FROM THE WORD GO & the hits keep coming until the end. 2 words that best describe the collection are STUNNINGLY REGAL!
Every detail is impeccable & the jewelry/accessories are TRULY PERFECT!
Balenciaga
People hold there breath 6 months waiting for the latest Balenciaga bags & shoes. We are not let down on the biggest sellers for the house. LIVING for the huge leather tote with matching attached glove.
Would have like to see a few more innovations in the garment designs. Overall a STRONG COLLECTION!
Balmain
Olivier can do no wrong in the eyes of every fashionistas; S/S 2023 proves it! JUST WOW, a must watch show! It’s POWERFUL ART that screams chic!

Highly ranked as one of THE BEST COLLECTION I’VE SEEN IN 2023! It’s sexy, edgy, chic & HIGHLY COVETABLE! If I had an endless budget, there are a ton of items I would snap up in a heartbeat!

A FANTASTIC collection, nothing too far out of the box in design. Just beautiful fabrications & ELEGANT STYLE! Everyone will be killing themselves to add anything to their closet!

A lovely collection but wouldn’t say it blew me away; definitely some SOLID DESIGNS.

Don’t get so lost in the ARTISTIC CREATIONS, otherwise you will miss the wearable. The rose pants/shorts/skirt & the pointy toe, kitten heel, lace-up oxfords, LOVE.

For S/S we are being honored with FRESH & CLEVER designs from the house. LOVE THIS COLLECTION!
Dries Van Noten
Current trend pieces we old ladies can add to our wardrobe without looking like we are trying to hard. GREAT COLLECTION!

Don’t get lost on the star studded front row including THE MASTER JEAN PAUL himself sitting next to THE CATHERINE DENEUVE! Even Olivier is front row observing every stitch!
The collection is STUNNING FROM THE WORD GO! Not just sexy IT’S A SENSUAL ART ORGASM! Had to have a cigarette after watching the show. HOLY SHIT HAIDER YOU MURDERED IT!!
Best part of the show is watching Jean Paul’s smile as each piece came out!

Another Parisienne house staying relevant after so many decades. Surprisingly it was the streetwear that got me SITTING UP IN MY SEAT! The eveningwear is STRONG & BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED.
The bags & shoes are amazing; it’s the bread & butter of the house.
Hermès
For S/S 2023 we are given RELAXED SEXY. Nothing feels contrived, complicated or fussy. The designs are easy yet BEAUTIFULLY CHIC!
The accessories are always on point, but LIVING for the sandals!
Isabel Marant
Isabel KILLED IT with this brilliantly, strong collection. Fashionistas everywhere are going to be fighting to the death for these looks.
Issey Miyake
Mr. Miyake’s accordion pleats & ribbed knit designs are INFAMOUS around the globe. He could have updated fabrications of archived pieces from the 2000s, but no, no, no! For S/S 2023 we get a completely new interpretation.
The collection is FASHIONABLE ART, in only the way Issey can do.
Must comment on the dancers. Unlike the Dior show, the dancers are wearing pieces from the collection. Didn’t distract from the designs, actually enhanced them by showing how relaxed but chic they are.

Powerful, sexy & INNOVATIVELY CLEVER, a KILLER COLLECTION! From the denim & suits to the shorts & handbags, everything is A “MUST HAVE” PIECE!

Holy shit, they are NOT FUCKING AROUND at Paco Rabanne! The 57 year old house took it’s archives of chainmail, grommets & sexy cuts and turned them on their head!

Pierre Cardin “World Tour: Mexico City”
TRUE TO IT’S ROOTS. Pierre Cardin has always designed futuristic 60’s style pieces. For S/S 2023 they didn’t try to follow trends. They stayed on message with A-line mini-dresses & circle cutouts + details.
Don’t worry the runway show is only 20 minutes! The remainder is part business meeting, part recognition celebration; showing appreciation for the designers that created the collection.
Rick Owens “EDFU”
First things first. Been to that location in Paris, stumbled upon it at night looking for a restaurant. The fountain was off but the pool was still lit. Right across from the Sein. TOTALLY BREATHTAKING!

Hard to review such a short video of the collection but it’s VERY PROMISING. Sure there are many pieces not shown that have been added to carts, shipped to homes, & waiting for the weather to break.

In a sea of designers trying to hit every trend, it’s hard to incorporate them in a way that feels new. For S/S Schiaparelli does just that. It’s BEAUTIFUL, UNIQUE & BEYOND BELIEF!
HELLO, Shalom Harlow in a strapless white faux fur leopard print column gown with a snow leopard head on the bodice, AND Naomi in the black fur coat with black wolf head, GENIUS!

The collection has some STRONG PIECES; Victoria really shines in her suit designs. Not a huge fan of the “baboon butt” pieces but overall IT’S NICE.

Another designer that managed to cram in a lot of trends & it still feel FRESH! A TON OF HITS from garments to accessories, AMAGING!

Been years since I’ve watched & reviewed a V&R collection. MEGA THRILLED this was the show I rediscovered them.

Devastated this collection is not higher in the blog, but promised it would be alphabetically. This is THE SHOW TO SEE OUT OF ALL THE COLLECTIONS! BEYOND FASHION ART!!
Yohji Yamamato
Not sure what I was feeling in the beginning; wasn’t getting my normal Yohji excitement. About 9 minutes in that all changed. Sat up in my seat and was BLOWN AWAY until the bitter end.
The long sleeve, laser cut, lace front top; BRILLIANT. Apologies Mr. Yamamato, for a moment I doubted, won’t happen again!

The year’s trends start with spring/summer, which mean most trends listed in the F/W blog are similar.

THE OBVIOUS Spring/Summer trends:
- Trench coats, lightweight jackets, sweaters, shorts with tights, bathing suits, mini skirts/dresses
- Cottons, lightweight knits, chiffon, silk, lace, denim & leather
- Pastels & floral prints, details & accessories
- Sandals, transitional tights/fishnets, scarves, gloves, sunhats & glasses
Above are the staples, below is WHAT’S NEW for Spring/Summer 2023:
- Designers are reinterpreting the 2000s. From low slung pants with brief waistbands to lingerie as outerwear. Even the aughts obsession with harem pants & brand logos has been updated for 2023-2024.
- Desert neutrals like sand, beige, white, tan & khaki dominated many collections. But my favorite are the saturated jewel tones: blues from cobalt to royal, greens from olive to chartreuse, reds from tomato to burgundy.
Colors had no bounds which was refreshing! - Plastics & thin clear latex were also an exciting addition. Looking forward to finding this trend to add to my wardrobe.
- In my F/W blog I talked about the chunky heeled platform shoes, à la Dee-Lite’s, Lady Miss Kier. For S/S they are on another level, some of the highest ever created.
- Open knits & crochet/macramé is an obvious trend but for the season they have been reimagined.
- With lingerie as outerwear coming back that means garters are also having a revival.

Not many of us can’t afford pieces from any of these designers. Just take your trends list & check out more affordable retailers.
