I filmed this video on the Saturday of Rosh Hashanah 10-19-20. If you didn’t know Rosh Hashanah is the start of the Jewish New Year.
The Hebrew common greeting on Rosh Hashanah is Shanah Tovah pronounced [ʃaˈna toˈva]), which translated from Hebrew means “[have a] good year”. Or you can say Shanah Tovah Umetukah which means “[have a] Good and Sweet Year”.
You celebrate Rosh Hashanah with gifts from the fall harvest: apples & honey, hence the “sweet new year”.
