The Latest Fashion Month Trends for Winter 2024

The Latest Fashion Month Trends for Winter 2024, include unbiased reviews of my favorite (& a few new) designers.

My Process

During International Fashion Month, I check FWO (Fashion Week Online HERE) to pull up the season’s schedule of designers. I note which designers I’ll cover for each city.

Then, once the last model walks the finale look in Paris, I start uploading videos from YouTube.

Lastly, I watch each video, write my reviews & start the list of trends.

My Fashion Wish List

Included with each designer is a section called “In My Cart”; my wish list items. Establishes what to keep in my wardrobe and I need to purchase for upcoming seasons.

Have been following fashion & trends for 35 years; studying fashion history even longer. As a seasoned fashion stylist & content creator, designer’s need to create something original for me to take notice and put “In My Cart”.

Why You Should Subscribe

Apologies, I didn’t list designers alphabetically this season; will make certain to do so in future.

New York

Christian Siriano

Christian is such a GLAMOUR-PUSS! He never disappoints on cut, fabrication or details.

Love this season’s color palette of deep rose, wine & jewel tone yellows, with a few extras like grey and champagne

Glamour with a gothic edge is what Rodarte is known for. A couture-like hand is present in each piece!

Stay tuned to the end, the finale look is EPIC!

  • Flower capelet sleeve pieces
  • Wine color-blocked dress
  • White flower, full length cape

Anna Sui

  • Green plaid, pleated skirt with matching trench coat
  • Pink plaid wool mini overalls dress
  • Every season Anna creates the best hats, jewelry, shoes & accessories. I WANT THEM ALL!!

Ulla Johnson

Old-world Americana/Western is Ulla’s signature. For F/W 2024 the color palette of burnt orange, greens & browns, feel fresh & new!

LaQuan Smith

LaQuan is one of my favorite African American designers. His ultra-sexy style are not for “the wallflower girls”. If you wear LaQuan’s designs, YOU WILL BE NOTICED!!

For F/W 2024 “black-tie” was the inspiration.

  • Black tinsel fabric pieces

Thom Browne

Thom is a “high art” designer that loves to push the envelope. True fashion lovers are ALL HERE FOR IT! Think McQueen (of course) in his hey day or Libertine. First comes the art, then the fashion.

Thom is THE KING of suits. He brings a Savile Row hand to each piece. Love the clock theme of the collection.

Like all “high-art” designers, I want EVERYTHING! Here are my standouts:

  • First look: White quilted, button bodice, off the shoulder, calf-length jumpsuit with oversized legs & sleeves
  • Naturally, all, shoes, boots, gold cage hats, bags & accessories. The ultra high platform, clock heel shoes YAS YAS YAS!!
  • All garter socks

10 minutes into the show I realized; I can’t list individual pieces or looks. I WANT EVERYTHING! Now going to watch the remainder of the show with out the distraction of listing the pieces I want “In My Cart”.

Been over 25 years since I worked for Coach. Steeped in equestrian history leads to impeccable leather craftmanship.

Coach’s bread & butter are their bags, so make sure to pay attention to the styles they created for F/W 2024. Love the distressed knits with cartoon characters!

Tory Burch

Another brand that relies heavily on their handbag sales, because of the incredible craftmanship. Beautifully crafted classics with updated fabrics is the Tory way!

LoveShackFancy *

Video is a photo montage of the runway looks.

LSF is not a brand I wear:

  1. Price point is a bit high for what I feel are rehashed items you can find more affordably.
  2. Way to young for me!
  3. Don’t have overly romantic items in my wardrobe. Rather go edgy than soft.

  • All knit cropped sweaters

Joseph Altuzzara is one of my favorite NY designers. This season was stunning from the word go!

The brands signature is great leathers, incredible trench coats, coveted handbags/accessories & fresh takes on classic pieces. The Hermès of London!

Susan’s designs are uber sexy, romantic pieces; lots of lace, chiffon & tulle. Knitwear pieces are designed to perfection.

Women that wear Armani know it takes more than trendy details to be sexy. For F/W 2024 Mr. Armani gave us trends like fringe & accordion pleating.

Dolce & Gabbana

Dolce & Gabbana = Italian sexy. For F/W 2024 lingerie was the inspiration. However, the collection left me uninspired.

Most pieces were completely sheer. Left me wondering throughout the show; where would I wear these pieces IRL?

Could not, for the life of me, find a single piece I would add to my cart. Sadly, nothing felt original!! Is this the end of D&G? Hopefully, they will give us something better next season!

Runway starts at 17:21

Will never forget my first pair of Ferragamo shoes. Purchased 3 pair at an auction: red & white patent leather & navy pair. Wore them to death, but sadly after having my son they no longer fit!

If you want wardrobe staple pieces in updated fabrications, then this is the collection for you.

New designer, Maximillian Davis is black from the UK. Clear he wanted to stay true to the Ferragamo house for his first collection. Looking forward to what he does next.

If you didn’t already know from reading my archived fashion blogs, Jeremy Scott is one of my favorite designers of all time! He’s right up there with Alexander McQueen & Michael Kors in my book.

Each season, I CAN’T WAIT to see the master’s creations. He does trends in his own way & I thank the FASHION GODS every day for a unique voice in fashion!

Last winter he gave us glamourous fantasy. For F/W 2024, Jeremy went into his archives to revive his signature crystal embellished, edgy streetwear. Looks that made him INFAMOUS in the 90s! It was 2024 grunge like only he can do!

Drooling over this fluid hem he gave us in so many looks. From gowns, skirts & jacket to the top of sequin long gloves & pocket details!

My favorite part of any Moschino show is to see what Jeremy will wear. It gave me such a flashback from when I first started blogging about him.

He wore a black Angus Young (from the cover of the Highway to Hell album) AC/DC t-shirt. Black exaggerated long sleeve undershirt, camo “fluid hem” cargo shorts & classic Doc Martens. He hasn’t aged since he first came on the scene! I LOVE YOU JEREMEY SCOTT!!

When choosing a Jeremy Scott piece to add to my cart, it’s easier to say I want everything. Because I always do! Below are my standouts:

MM6 Maison Margiela

Relaxed, on-trend, streetwear for men & women is the MM6 customer. For F/W 2024, a very neutral color palette of creams, tans, greys as well as black with silver & a flower patter thrown in. Various shades of blue & green were the only other colors.

Maison Margiela Co-Ed Collection

Co-Ed collection is more sophisticated; where MM6 is coveted by a younger audience.

Even though the collection hits all the trends from plaid to fringe, it doesn’t feel forced or a repeat of another collection. It’s fresh & bold!

Layer upon layer of delicious wearable pieces. From the fishnet skirts on men to the “turned around” looks, à la 90s rap duo Kris Kross.

STAY TUNED: The Co-Ed Spring/Summer 2023 collection is at the end of the video.

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons present Prada

What can I say, it’s Prada! You know every piece will be coveted by all the fashion elite. A brand that never disappoints season after season.

Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini

Updated classics is what you expect at the Philosophy house. Suiting is always impeccable. Designs give an equestrian, Italian countryside feel.

No need to state THE OBVIOUS winter trends:
Trench coats, puffer jackets, sweaters, shorts with tights
Wools, knits, tweeds, velvet, corduroy & leather
Boots, tights, scarves, gloves

Above are winter staples, below is what’s new for F/W 2024:

  1. Oversized is still a big trend. However, for F/W 2024, the waist is nipped or legs exposed. No longer head-to-toe we’ve seen the past few seasons
  2. Back to celebrating the body with skimpy brief bottoms for day & completely sheer tops
  3. Corsets & boning bodice tops are still in
  4. Gloves have been updated. Now in unexpected fabrications like beaded chiffon & all over pearls. Also every length including shoulder hugging
  5. Haven’t bought into sequin, lace or winter florals yet? What are you waiting for? GET SOME! They have been dominating runways for at least 3 winters now.
  6. Rose embellishments & prints still going strong for 2024, as well as, bows
  7. Tights are a winter staple, for F/W 2024, some designers presented nylons. Think 80s Dynasty
  8. Wool socks from calf to hip high, have been updated from the 90s with crystals, sequin, leather & other embellishments
  9. Capes & capelets are still hanging on (reminds me of the Seinfeld episode, lol!)
  10. Jaw dropping, hip high slits were seen in dresses, skirts & even trousers
  11. Chunky heeled (& stiletto) platform shoes à la Dee-Lite’s, Lady Miss Kier. From floral silk & full rhinestone to faux fur & leather
  12. The new legwarmers in fabrications like leather, faux fur & belted flared denim are still going strong
  13. Accordion pleats were seen on almost every runway & many designers used taffeta
  14. Tartan/plaids have been revived (my blog about plaid). Think 70s punk & 90s grunge, including oversized safety pins, chains & spikes
  15. Double breasted blazers, jackets & coats also made a comeback for F/W 2024
  16. No limit to your accessories & jewelry
Thin belts, thick belts, chandelier earrings or large studs; tote bags, mini handbags ANYTHING & EVERYTHING GOES!! Pile them on or a simple piece or two NO RULES!!!
  17. Several designers created pieces with a “turned around” style à la 90s rap duo Kris Kross
  18. Gauchos, flared leg, 70s bellbottoms & harem pants/shorts were big! A few designers are still showing cargos.
  19. Another revived pant style was back: Crease front pants
