How Paris Fashion Week Summer 2024 Made Fashion Month Exciting

Paris Fashion Week Logo

I am someone who has been following fashion since the 1980s and began reviewing fashion shows when I started my blog in 2002. This is how Paris Fashion Week summer 2024 made fashion month exciting.

With so much change in technology, I believed it was time for me to once again update my method of reviewing fashion collections.

I thought, what better time than the Paris Summer 2024 shows? I will still be watching the collections on YouTube until I get to the level in my career where I can travel to see them live. However, instead of writing my reviews, I decided to record them.

This really simplified the review process. Instead of worrying about spelling and editing text, I just grabbed my phone and recorded a quick video.

Make sure you leave a comment and let me know if you prefer this method and if you subscribe.

Why You Should Subscribe

Putting all the runway videos from your favorite fashion city in one place has hopefully been helpful for subscribers. No more spending hours searching; I’ve done it all for you! Also this season, I remembered to list the designers alphabetically.

Hermès

I wrote this review prior to deciding I would record each collection. Powerful, sexy, and chic; it’s what they do. Amazingly elegant designs with a Parisienne sexiness and ease.

You know the bags and leathers are going to be incredible; it’s Hermès. I love all the cut-outs backs, and halter detail tops.

The color ways are the same trending colors: black, white, neutrals, silver and my new favorite color, cranberry

What’s not to love in the collection? The dresses, jackets, and flat sandals YAS YAS YAS! Adding everything to cart, naturally!

This is not just a way to update your staples; there are real innovative silhouettes and cuts. I am a fan of the paperbag waist, and I love that they showed many designs with that flattering design.

STAY TUNED FOR MY PARIS FASHION WEEK WRAP UP VIDEO

Classic Summer Staples

  • The classic summer staple of crocheted knits is seen in every way, from large chunky with beaded embellishments to closed-stitch cashmere subtle designs.
  • Spring/summer naturally means cutouts and back-outs.
  • Strappy sandals in both stiletto and flat, even gladiators are not seen as out of style in 2024.
  • Pleats are always a necessity in spring/summer and 2024 is no exception.

Carryover from Spring/Summer 2023

  • Flower and ruffle details/accessories are still going for 2024.
  • Keep it tight because the sheer trend has real staying power for spring/summer 2024. With sheer becoming a real staple, lingerie is the natural next step in fashion.
  • Corsets are still going strong, as are pearls.
How to Wear and Care for your Pearl Blog posts on 9-19, make sure to subscribe to get the latest in fashion and beauty.
  • Gloves and arm warmers are still in, although you don’t see them in everyday looks. Naturally, you can carry over heavier gloves from winter as you transition to spring.

What’s New for the Season

  • Soft grey is EVERYWHERE.
  • Finally, hemlines are everywhere in spring/summer but for 2024 many designers featured baby doll silhouettes.
