Did London Fashion Week A/W 2022 Deliver Amazing Shows?… Let’s discover together!

Interestingly, my favorite fashion artists are from the UK (Pat McGrath, Oswald Boateng, Philip Treacy & ALEXANDER MCQUEEN) yet, I don’t review as many designers during London Fashion Week.

As you get to know me, you will learn I AM A HAT FANATIC!! Subjects I self-studied in college were cobbling & millinery. Learning the history of these amazing craftsman was far more significant than the LIES of America!!

The first time Philip Treacy collaborated with Alexander McQueen in the early 90s, I knew I found MY MILLINER! Eugenia Kim is for my everyday, but Philip Treacy is for LUXURY LIFE moments.

London is known for ROYAL hat making so, it’s apropos my London Fashion Week reviews begins with A LEGEND in the millinery world.

Stephen Jones Millinery

SIGNATURE: Traditional UK hat making with edge

WHAT’S NEW: Each season Stephen creates original designs; always something new to DROOL OVER

IN MY CART: “Black Coffee” is AMAZING with the stamped out cigarette LOVE

Palmer Harding

SIGNATURE: First time reviewing this designer; not certain what’s signature & new

IN MY CART: White & blue/white stripe palazzo pants + black & gold evening gown

Banshee of Savile Row

SIGNATURE: The words Savile Row = IMPECCABLE TAILORING & that is what Banshee gives you every season! Traditional cuts with innovative textiles.

WHAT’S NEW: Banshee creates a capsule collection of staples. What’s “new” are your core wardrobe items have been modernized; from suits to outerwear

IN MY CART: Natural linen + pink & white striped seersucker double breasted suits

Temperley London

SIGNATURE: THE IT GIRLS of London WEAR ALICE! Oddly, the Temperley brand is like the “Alice” + Olivia of London; ensembles for powerful women that want to say I’M THE BOSS, BITCH!

WHAT’S NEW: The Latin cowgirl trend is strong at Temperley; not kitschy, stylish AF

IN MY CART: It’s all going in the cart baby! From the jewelry to the evening looks every piece is a BANGER!

Central Saint Martins

SIGNATURE & NEW: Several designers are showcased ENJOY!

SIGNATURE: Free silhouettes + fashion that straddles the line between wearable & high-art

WHAT’S NEW: Utilizing bows as a focal point for designs

IN MY CART: First let me say as a makeup artist I was BLOWN AWAY!
Knit brief shorts & short puff sleeve sweaters with peplum shirt detail; LIVING + all the accessories including the jewelry, shoes, & knit skull hats with rhinestone details + EVERY cape + the 1st white & red look

Raf Simone

SIGNATURE: First time covering this designer but it’s clear their signature is outerwear

WHAT’S NEW: Certain many of the accessories are new this season

IN MY CART: As a fashion stylist/image consultant, my job is to appreciate every type of fashion art. I never know what a future client’s style will require, but hope one day it will be a Raf Simons vibe.

SIGNATURE: Urban LUXURY fashion for men & women

WHAT’S NEW: Peter pan collars & many of the accessories

IN MY CART: High waisted trousers paired with silk blouses + all the knit berets + light blue long silk dress with ombre floral design + marabou feather button down with peter pan collar + printed circle skirt suit

SIGNATURE: HUNTEEE, Vivienne Westwood DEFINES LONDON FASHION!

WHAT’S NEW: There is nothing Vivienne hasn’t created in her decades of fashion design. All designers go to the Vivienne archives for THEIR inspiration. How does she do it after all these years? Like any LEGEND she creates from her heart & we go MAD for it every season.
